7-Day Somatic Writers’ Retreat
with Psilocybin Microdosing
Ideas are like fish. If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you’ve got to go deeper. Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They’re huge and abstract. And they’re very beautiful.

Psilocybin Mushrooms,
Microdosing
& Creativity
Connections between magic mushrooms and creativity have been explored by many thinkers, artists, and researchers. In Western culture, the renewed interest in psychedelics began in the 1950s and Aldous Huxley, who experimented with mescaline and later psilocybin, linked altered states of consciousness to expanded creativity and perception. But long before that, psilocybin mushrooms held a sacred role in Indigenous traditions, with many healers’ and artists’ names by now erased from our conscious historical memory. The memory that was luckily preserved is the one of the Mazatec healer María Sabina who in her healing ceremonies with psilocybin mushrooms sang chants, songs, and recited poems that channeled the mushroom spirit. Her practice demonstrated that creativity, expressed through sacred words, is not a byproduct of psilocybin, but an essential part of its medicine.
In modern times, microdosing psilocybin mushrooms – taking a very small amount that doesn’t noticeably alter perception – has been popularized by James Fadiman and Paul Stamets. While scientific evidence is still limited, the practice has gained wide popularity in recent years, with many reporting that microdosing enhances their cognitive flexibility, supports creativity, and helps maintain flow during demanding tasks.
Even in small amounts, magic mushrooms remain powerful and intelligent beings. At Osnova, we see them not as shortcuts or productivity hacks, but as teachers. They won’t do the work for you or turn you into a machine; instead, they invite you to see more clearly and listen more deeply.
When you work with sacred mushrooms in this way, you may find yourself creating less from the ego and more from the soul. The mushrooms can open a path toward honesty – with yourself and with your work – helping you tell your truth and surpassing a fear of reception.
They might show you how, In David Lynch’s words, to dive for the “big fish,” exploring the depths of consciousness while remaining anchored in your craft.
The Retreat
This retreat offers you the opportunity to experience the power of magic mushrooms for yourself in the spirit of respect and reciprocity.
You’ll have dedicated time for your work - whether that means writing, reflecting, or exploring ideas in nature. Rest, too, is an essential part of the process, so there will be ample opportunities to restore your energy through walking, swimming, and interacting with others.
You’ll form a part of an intimate group of max. 9 participants who we’ll vet personally to assure there’s diversity and that each participant can be nurtured from the others as much as they can contribute back.
Incorporating different somatic practices, especially meditation and breathwork, and reconnecting with nature will, as a result, help you write not just from your mind, but also your body and soul.
And they have a lot to say, if we’re just able to listen.
You’ll gently build a relationship with psilocybin mushrooms, discovering how with these new allies you can give live to what’s emerging from the depths of your creative being.
